Lifestyle disorders can be prevented by taking action now

In this article we will see about lifestyle disorders against whom every Indian is at risk and the only way to win this war is to prevent lifestyle disorders from occurring at all.

In the second part with Vijay Dalwani we saw The Top 5 Lifestyle disorders in India and Vijay Dalwani ranked Osteoporosis, Obesity, Diabetes, Arthritis and Blood Pressure as 1 to 5 respectively based on his experience and interactions with affected people.

In the first part, City life – an invitation to Lifestyle Disorder, Vijay Dalwani discussed how lifestyle disorders are spreading in India at an alarming rate.

Now in this part you will see many things with Vijay Dalwani and me.

“Preventing Lifestyle disorder is a long term solution. One needs to start early. Awareness & education about the lifestyle disorders is the only remedy. Many wellness companies are building awareness and focusing on educating the people so they can take informed decision of their health” says Vijay Dalwani.

Preventing lifestyle disorder is more about changing the mindset than anything else. A person who is apparently healthy and has no disease symptoms does not fear the future. The mind thinks that the body is 100 percent fit. He or She is not aware that something within the body is changing every minute.

The mind does not realize that today’s improper lifestyle may one day lead to Diabetes or Osteoporosis or any other lifestyle disorder. By the time you come to know about the lifestyle disorder, it is too late.

What is needed is awareness that our current lifestyle is leading us towards diabetes or Osteoporosis or any other lifestyle disease and we need to take care right now and prevent it from happening. This kind of awareness is the need of the hour.

“The best way to prevent a lifestyle disorder is to manage your lifestyle and live a healthy lifestyle. A good lifestyle also needs to be complemented with proper nutrition. You can manage your activities, you can manage your sleep and eating habits, you can stop smoking, drugs or alcohol – however it is difficult to manage the amount of nutrition that your body needs on a daily basis” says Vijay Dalwani.

The amount of nutrition that your body needs daily is always constant. Due to our current lifestyle we only manage to provide not more than 30 to 40 percent of what is needed by the body. By living a health conscious lifestyle 40 to50 percent can be replenished at the most. There is still a deficit of 50 to 70 percent. This can only be replenished by taking the proper supplements.

Today, the world is waking up to the threats of lifestyle disorders. Changes are happening globally and in India too. Many companies are coming up with different wellness and awareness programs. Wellness is a booming industry in India so more and more options are being made available.

The only thing people will have to do is to take benefits of the available options. Remember you are never too busy to go to the spa or get yourself a massage. Even a simple massage can remove lots of toxins from your body, rejuvenate and activate your cells to fight the disorders from within.

Once you suffer from a lifestyle disorder, it’s yours for life. There is nothing you can do about it. The expense of preventing a lifestyle disorder now is much lesser than the amount that will be spent to provide temporary relief once the disorder is firmly lodged within the body not to mention the pain and discomfort, social stigma and low self esteem. There is a heavy price to pay at a later stage from physical, mental and social perspectives.
