Vijay Dalwani Sanda Wellness has given some advice which can help you to overcome depression.

With the increasing population, there is immense competition these days. Mushrooming of Educational Institutions and International Bachelor Degrees have led to immense accomplishments of goals and objectives. In this difficult race of life, one has to play an innumerable number of roles. Moreover each role has an expectation attached.

When we play such roles, we are forced to meet those and when we try to meet many of those, we lose out on our energy and this leads to stress. 2009 had seen the worst of times for the working class. Recession had blanket the market and every organization was like a ship in the storm seas. The only objective each organization had was to survive. It was the survival of the fittest and in that race many lost their jobs. Many households were unable to afford a square meal. Well these days we have enough reasons to keep us stressed but soon we shall learn how to handle it.

What is Depression ?

“Depression comes with long layers of sadness. All of us have the same brain but our attributes and attitude contributes to what we are and where we want to be. While some of us choose to stay sad some use the enthusiasm to get out of situations. Depression comes to those who are sensitive and when they are hurt over a length of time.” says Vijay Dalwani Sanda Wellness.

Depression is the real state of mind when the mind is confused and it does not know what to do. It only keeps thinking of the problem and cribs a lot only about it. It does not try hunting for a solution and expects ties would solve it all but they themselves do not take the initiative. But the fact here is that they are actually unable to handle it.

The ability to face problems comes from one's conditioning since childhood. If one has always been pampered and not given any kind of responsibility or decision making authority, he normally faces situations and always needs someone’s support to come out of problems in the future.

We all have our own set of problems, to someone they may sound small and for some others they may be big, but at the end of it, there needs to exist an ability to solve it.

If one continues to lead a life with the same problems and the same situations and although there is a dislike of the behavior of many, he is suppressing himself and this could lead to hypertension.

Factors that can cause depression :

Brain Chemistry Imbalances

Depression has been linked to an imbalance in the neurotransmitters that impact mood regulation. This includes dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. The theory is that having too much or too little of these neurotransmitters can cause (or contribute to) depression.

Hormones

Any flux in the production or function of hormones—for example, pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, or thyroid issues—could contribute to depression.

Seasonal Changes

Major depressive disorder with seasonal patterns (seasonal affective disorder) is triggered by disruptions in the circadian rhythm of the body.3 A change in seasons can also disrupt sleep, which can contribute to a depressed mood.

Stress and Trauma

The loss of a loved one, trauma and abuse, chronic stress, and big life changes (such as a divorce or losing a job) can trigger depression. Researchers blame this on the high levels of the hormone cortisol that are secreted during these stressful, traumatic times.

Depression Is Treatable

“There are several very effective treatment options available for depression, including medications and psychotherapy. In addition, there are new treatments being developed all the time that are proving to be effective in cases where other treatments have failed.” says Vijay Dalwani Sanda Wellness.

While your treatment should be tailored to best suit your symptoms and overall health, a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes is often used to help alleviate symptoms of depression.

Therapy

Depending on your unique situations, you may participate in individual, group, family, or couples psychotherapy. While there are many types of therapeutic approaches, the following have been study-proven to treat depression:6

Behavioral activation

Cognitive-behavioral therapy

Interpersonal therapy

Problem-solving therapy

Psychodynamic therapy

Social skills therapy

Supportive counseling

Medications

Especially when used in conjunction with psychotherapy, there are many medications that have been found effective in the treatment of depression. Again, since depression treatment is not a one-size-fits-all approach, it may take some trial and error to find the medication that alleviates your symptoms with the fewest side effects.

Lifestyle Changes

In addition to therapy and medication, there are some lifestyle changes that can help you better manage symptoms of depression as well as medication side effects. Here are a few areas to focus on, but first consult your mental health professional to find out if they are right for you.

Diet: There's no cure-all diet for depression, but there are certain foods that you can eat (and avoid) that play a role in mood and emotional regulation. Processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and refined grains can hijack your mental health while whole foods like fruits and vegetables, fish, turkey, chicken, beans, nuts, and seeds can provide mood-boosting benefits

.

Exercise: A good workout can help lift your mood, reduce stress, and alleviate symptoms of depression.8 The type of exercise you choose should be based on your fitness level, health, and preferences. Your routine can include aerobic exercise (such as jogging, swimming, cycling, brisk walking, elliptical trainer) and mind-body exercises like yoga and tai chi.

Stress management: Stress can trigger depression and intensify its symptoms. Long-term habits like good nutrition, regular exercise, proper sleep, and meditation build resilience. Incorporate daily stress management techniques once you find what works for you. A support group or mental health professional can provide useful ideas.

“Depression could lead to Insomnia, Hypertension, Migraines, Brain Tumors, Blood clotting, Aches and Pains, Stomach disorders and there is no end to it. Many who continually stay depressed and feel helpless eventually want to give up on life, they could even try to kill themselves.” says Vijay Dalwani Sanda Wellness.

“Depression is a very real and treatable illness. But myths, misunderstandings, and stigma continue to be barriers to treatment for many, and the consequences of untreated depression can be life-threatening. Understanding the facts about depression, on the other hand, can save lives.” says Vijay Dalwani Sanda Wellness.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL BUT SOMETIMES WE CLOSE THE CURTAINS TO WORLD AND STAY IN OUR OWN SADNESS.  We shall further learn the real reasons for depression and how each of those situations could be handled by you alone so that you happily open the curtains to enjoy the world.
